Enjoying Who I Am, Just as I Am. | An 8-Chapter Series
CHAPTER 04 / 08
What You Want Isn’t Necessarily a Boyfriend.

As your stage of life changes, so does the distance from men that feels right.
By the time you reach your 30s or 40s, a new relationship comes with different considerations than it did when you were younger.
First, you have to meet someone.
You have to fall for him.
He has to fall for you too.
Your conversations have to flow.
Your lifestyles have to be compatible.
Your values cannot be too far apart.
You need to feel safe with him.
You need to have sexual chemistry.
And you both need to want the same level of closeness from the relationship.
If you are single, the question of your future together may also arise.
If you are married, you may not want a new romantic relationship in the first place.
If work keeps you busy, meeting frequently can be difficult.
And if you cherish time with your family, you may have no wish to change the life you already have.
And romance itself may not be what you truly want.
You may not want to exchange “good morning” messages on LINE every day.
You may not want to spend every weekend together.
You may not want to be unsettled by his social life.
You may not want him to become deeply involved in your life.
You may simply want to see him from time to time.
And during those moments, you want to be treated as someone truly precious.
You want to be seen and appreciated as a woman.
You want to be held.
You want to kiss.
You want your physical desires to be fulfilled too.
And once you feel fulfilled, you want to return to your everyday life.
There is nothing unusual about a woman wanting this kind of relationship.
Romance is a wonderful thing.
But romance is not the only answer when it comes to time shared between a woman and a man.
As your stage of life changes, the distance from others that feels right may change as well.
Just a few hours, entirely for you.
Not a whole new life, but time that suits how you feel that day.
