Sexual Desire Alone Arrives in the “Now.”
Regardless of the plans we make for our lives, the body’s desires sometimes appear in the “now.”
Romance takes time.
It may take six months to meet the right person.
It may take a year.
It may take even longer.
A year from now, you may have met a wonderful man.
Three years from now, you may have found new love.
But you cannot put the sensations you feel in your body tonight on hold for three years.
You want to be held now.
You want to be kissed now.
You want to touch a man’s body now.
You want to be caressed with care now.
You want to be desired as a woman now.
The body’s desires exist very much in the present tense.
So perhaps the pleasure of thinking, “Someday, when I meet someone wonderful,”
can be considered separately.
Finding a man who suits you, beginning a romance and nurturing the relationship can be wonderful too.
But there may be times when you cannot devote so much time to something you want for only a few hours right now.
You have work.
You have family.
You have plans of your own.
The older we become, the more precious things our time contains.
That is precisely why you might reserve just a few hours for yourself.
